House Number and Rough-in In

Swung by today and noticed that they placed our house number on our black sheeting.  Our house number is 1802 which is odd.  There is one house to our left and no houses left of that for a long distance on the street.  The numbering is bond to confuse visitors for years to come.  The houses at the top of the street ascend in the 1900s.  Then all of a sudden about halfway down the street it changes to 1800 - odd numbers.  The house to our right is 1801 and to its right 1803, and then we are 1802.  I assume that the house on our left will be 1800.

Nonetheless our rough-in plumbing is in and we were able to get our sump pump located under our stairwell, so we can get the full use of one of our utility rooms in the basement; which will be our exercise room.

Lumber is set to be delivered next Friday.

Footings in place

Boy do I like the sign of progress.  The footing was poured today.  We took the opportunity to write a few scriptures into the footing before the concrete sets.  We also met another neighbor whose home is about a week or so ahead of us.

Tomorrow it all begins...finally!!

So the bulldozer from last week was not sitting on our lot because it was about to be put to use.  It actually broke down...lol!  Oh well, it provide us with a little bit of excitement for a day.  Nevertheless, I received a call from our PM today stating that ground breaking is set to occur tomorrow.  Though there are thunderstorms scheduled for tomorrow, clear skies are on tap for Thursday.
This one better be ready to go come tomorrow morning! :-)

Is this a good sign??

So we were told that groundbreaking would take place in 3-4 weeks from our Pre-Con meeting.  Well tomorrow would make week 4.  My wife spoke with our PM on Thursday and was told that we are on schedule for groundbreaking the week of May 7th.  Well, I decided to drive by the lot today and saw a bulldozer on our lot.  Could the ball start to roll this week????  Here's to hoping that is the case :-)

Pre-Construction Meeting Done

We had our meeting today.  It was a good meeting with our PM, Chris.  He ran down all the items we selected along with a few changes.  There were a couple of items that were not on his list, but overall everything was there.   He stated that we are about 3-4 weeks away from groundbreaking...ugh!  There are two homes that are ahead of us and one of them has to get approval from the Architecture Review Board.  But soon enough our dream home will be under construction:-)

It's amazing how stress free we are now that our house has sold!  The building seems like the easy part.  So we are patiently awaiting seeing our home take shape!
